Making coaching strategic

In the latest issue of CIPD's Coaching at Work magazine, Aparna Uberoy, Head of Blue Edge Coaching looks at the way companies can utilise coaching to help achieve their strategic aims.

Aparna distinguishes between 'tactical' and 'strategic' coaching and illustrates how the latter can develop the long-term capability of organisations in the same way as organisational development interventions. Strategic coaching starts from the corporate vision and business strategy and is reinforced through wider people processes such as competency frameworks, leadership development programmes and training and development.
